Drunk is how most people picture Irish men. Yet Damien Rice does not fit that stereotype, not in the least. Having released his first album, O on February 1, 2002, he was off to a wonderful start. The album rose to Number Eight on the UK albums’ chart. Two singles from the record followed, “Cannonball” and “Volcano”. In O there is not one song that doesn’t leave you relaxed and smiling. Rice’s brisk voice is one that you cannot help but enjoy.
Not only does Damien have a voice that leaves a strong impact, he has a way of living tht leaves a strong impact as well. Rice strongly believes in helping out with charities and doing what he can for people that are less fortunate, recording tracks for organizations as well as donating proceeds from his sales. Anything he can to do his part.
To say the least, Damien Rice is that singer I can never get sick of. He is that man that all girls’ fathers wish their daughters would marry. He is truely one of a kind.
